MENNEKES is one of the world's leading manufacturers of standard industrial plugs and receptacles with sales in over 90 countries. A long term relationship with installers, wholesalers and industry has moulded the company's development.
The history of MENNEKES dates back to 1935, when Aloys Mennekes received his master craftsman's diploma in electrical engineering and founded his own company. What started as a small electrical workshop is today a truly global company: with its 13 subsidiaries, more than 63 sales companies and agencies, the company has a worldwide presence.

Nevertheless, MENNEKES remains a family business, and whilst run by the founder's son Walter Mennekes, the third generation is currently entering the company.

The first subsidiary abroad was MENNEKES Electric Limited in Orpington, and was founded in 1986 by Bob Wheeler and Walter Mennekes. The company has since continued to grow in the UK market due to the reliability of their products and services.
All companies in the MENNEKES group have been certified to DIN EN ISO 9001:2000 and on site testing laboratory in Germany monitors production and ensures that our high standards are maintained.
The production portfolio comprises standard CEE industrial plugs and receptacles in various designs: plugs, connectors, receptacles for container/camp sites and combinations for multiple applications as standard or to customer's own specifications. MENNEKES has over 11,000 standard products, and all are produced in Germany. Over 3,000 certifications and approvals have been awarded to them. MENNEKES plugs and sockets are renowned for quality and benefit from a high degree of specification in the installer/end user area primarily due to the confidence in the MENNEKES quality.
